William Bickerton Whitehead came out to Australia aged 30, formerly a Grenadier Guard, served for 5 years. He was an original member of H Company of the 13th Battalion, and left Australia with the first Australians in December 1914. He served at the Landing, before being killed in action on the 23 May 1915.

His parents were Holt WHITEHEAD & Sarah Ann BICKERTON who married in Cheshire, UK on 6th April 1874
