Reprted missing in action on 7 June 1917. Court of Enquiry on 23 February 1918 that he was killed in action. A fellow soldier reported that he had been wounded in the hip and that the bullet had exited through his knee. The soldier had applied bandages but was ordered to advance, there is no record of John Guerin after this event. His body has never been identified.
