Reginald Donacliffe CHARD was born in Armidale, New South Wales in 1886

His parents were John Sofala CHARD & Annie MARKHAM who married in St Peters Cathedral, Armidale on 1st November, 1881

He enlisted in Rosebery Park, Sydney on 3rd April, 1916 & embarked with the 9th Field Company Engineers on the ship HMAT Ajana on 5th July, 1916

He was transferred to the 1st Pioneers Battalion on 14th July, 1918 and returned to Australia on the ship "Port Darwin' on 12th June 1919 and was discharged on 11th September, 1919

Reginald died suddenly on 20th August, 1946, late of "Clifton" Carabella St, Kirribilli, Sydney and was cremated at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium in North Ryde - his name is memorialised on the WW1Honour Roll in St Matthews Anglican Church in Manly, Sydney
