Son John Bailey Urquhart and Elizabeth Urquhart nee Layton of Buxton Street, Preston, Victoria.
21 August 1916 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 8th Battalion and with the rank of Private.
26 June 1917 - transferred to the 22nd Battalion
7 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Chemnitz disembarking on 5 September 1919
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
20 October 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District
During 1927c Horace married Gladys Maud Waterson in Victoria.
