Doulas Cohen was born in 1892 at Percydale, Victoria. He later moved to Perth, Western Australia with some family members.
He was the son of Annie Kersel and Henry Moses Cohen, and brother to Elsie May Cohen, Bertha Cohen, Ruby Jane Cohen, Annie Cohan, Agnus Cohen, Rolf Edward Cohen, Frederick John Cohen, Henry Cohen and Rossana Cohen
