Son of Frederick Wills Uren and Alice Uren nee Jarvis of 'Hillside', Campbell Road, Upper Hawthorn, Victoria.

18 June 1917 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 8th Battalion with the rank of Private

23 August 1918 - wounded in action

13 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Persic disembarking on 19 August 1919

Medals: British War Medal,  Victory Medal

21 September 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District

During 1924c Reginald married Dorothy Lydia Kerrigan in Victoria
