Son of Joseph Hack and Louisa Sarah Hack nee Stock of MacQuarie Plains, NSW.
Brother of William Frederick Hack, Henry (Harry) Alfred Hack who was killed in action while serving with the 12th Battalionnd has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Albert Ernest Hack DCM who returned to Australia on 8 April 1919 having served with the 26th Battalion, Frederick Joseph Hack who returned to Australia on 16 May 1919 having served with the 26th Battalion, Ida Eva Hack, Louisa Maud Hack, Muriel Olive Hack, Agnes Annie Hack, Mathew John Hack, Myrtle Miriam Hack, Stanley George Hack, Mary Victoria Sara Hack, Clarence Rupert Hack, Mary Victoria Sarah Hack and Joseph Edward Hack
