Military Medal
Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 62
Date: 19 April 1917
Not yet 21 years of age, Private Cecil Davies, of Leichhardt, displayed such courage in the firing line as to merit the award of the Military Medal. Born in Annandale, Cecil Davies received his education at Fort Street, and was employed at Dalgety’s when he enlisted, in October, 1915. He was only in camp for two weeks,, when he was sent to Egypt, and thence to France. He was a driver in the Artillery, but is now a bombardier.
