Biography

Born 30 May 1891 at Norwood, SA, the son of Luke Lionel ELLIOTT and Elizabeth CRASE of Gower St., North Adelaide, SA

Frank Oswald Elliot was born in the 30th of May 1891 at Norwood, South Australia. He lived with his parents Luke Lionel Elliot and Elizabeth Crase at Gover Street, North Adelaide. He had 6 siblings 4 brothers and 2 sisters. For the time he was short man stranding at 5’2” or 157 cm. Frank was single all his life.

When he enlisted to join to join the military on the 25 January 1916, he was a 25-year-old Civil servant. He was assigned to the 10th battalion 9th Reinforcement. His service number was 5092. Frank's Unit embarked from Adelaide, South Australia, on board HMAT A9 Shropshire on 25 March 1916. Arriving in France joining the 10th battalion. On the 6/10/1916 he was sent to hospital and admitted due to scabies and transferred to the 50th Station. On the 11th he was then discharged to duty and rejoined the war on the 12th. On the 19/1/1917 Frank was appointed to Lance Corporal.

Frank Oswald Elliot was wounded on the 13/4/1917 and passed away at the age of 25 in Bullecourt, France enroute to 10th gen on the 14th. He was buried at St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France
