"...725 Trooper Alfred McDonald, 3rd Australian Light Horse, of York Peninsula, SA. Tpr A McDonald enlisted on 13 November 1914 and embarked from Melbourne aboard SS Hessen on 2 February 1915. He died of wounds in Egypt on 3 June 1916 aged 27 years. Tpr A McDonald’s younger brother 724 Tpr Murdock McDonald enlisted on 23 November 1914 with 3rd Australian Light Horse. He embarked and sailed with his brother and was also killed in action in Egypt on 7 July 1916 aged 26 years." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
