Son of John Francis Vaughan and Jane Elizabeth Vaughan nee Dickson of South Queenstown, Tasmania.
Commenced return to Australia on 14 January 1919 aboard HT City of York arriving on 2 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Tasmania.
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
On 4 April 1923 William married Doris Richie Cleland i Queenstown, Tasmania with Doris dying the following year.
