Oliver Inglis was born on the 16th of December 1881 in Jamestown South Australia. His parents were Oliver Kebble Richardson Inglis and Mary Gooley. His siblings were Kate Inglis, Edward Gooley Inglis, James Inglis, William John Inglis, Maggie Inglis, Frank Inglis, and Colin Carter Inglis. 

He was the husband of Randona Concordia Daphne von Sanden — married 4th Sep 1919 in St James Anglican Church, Mile End, South Australia, Australia. 

When Oliver Inglis was a kid he grew up in the Orroroo/Carrieton region. He went to Black Rock School in 1893 aged 11 years old. His religion was Presbyterian.

When Oliver Inglis went to the war his service number was 2329. He was a private and his roll title was a 3 LHR (Light horse regiment) 

The age that Oliver Inglis embarked from the war was 34 years old. His AWM embarkation roll number is 10/8/4. He returned to Australia on the 10th of July 1919.
