ERIC LINDON MOORE HUDSON, son of Mr. Ernest E. and Mrs. Jean Hudson, was born at “Fulham Park,” Wilcannia, on 30th April, 1892. He was educated at the Church of England Grammar School, Geelong, Victoria, and joined the service of the Bank at Queanbeyan on 24th July, 1909. His subsequent transfers were to Gilgandra in December, 1910; Moree, July, 1913; Dunedoo, April, 1914; Brewarrina, February, 1915; and Coonabarabran in September, 1915.
He enlisted on 30th March, 1916, and eventually joined the 23rd Company of the 3rd Machine Gun Battalion in France, where he attained the rank of lance-sergeant.
