John Archer Proctor KAINES was born in Adelaide, South Uastralia on 20th November, 1896
His parents were Lawrence Jamineau Harding KAINES & Isabel Ada PROCTOR
He previously served in the 5th Royal Australian Garrison Artillery before he enlisted on 1st September, 1915 with the Siege Artillery Brigade, Reinforcement 3 and embarked from Sydney on the HMAT Orsova on 10th November, 1915
He returned to Australia on 4th January, 1919 and was discharged on 19th August, 1919
John married Nellie Ada LETCHER in St Peters Cathedral, Adelaide, South Australia
On 1st July, 1941 he enlisted to serve during WW2 in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Pilot Officer - his last rank was Flight Lieutenant & he was discharged on 11th June 1946
