"...5858 Sergeant Percy Herbert Lingford, 24th Battalion. A clerk of Yea, Victoria, he enlisted at Footscray, Victoria. He embarked on the HMAT Nestor on 2 October 1916 with the 16th Reinforcements. He was killed in action on 5 October 1917, aged 23, at Broodseinde Ridge, Belgium, and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
