Previously served in the Royal Australian Navy Reserves for three and a half years

Commenced return to Australia on 22 July 1919 aboard HT Nestor disembarking on 24 September 1917

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

During 1922c William married Mattie Litchfield in Victoria

During January 1924 he applied for a grant under the War Service Homes Act
