At the time of enlistment Carl was residing in Three Springs, WA. Variations of the spelling of the surname include Vognson and Wognsen.

Son of Oline Rasmussen of Horsens, Denmark.

Commenced return to Australia on 1 February 1918 abaord HS Balmoral Castle as wounded disembarking on 18 March 1918
