Son of Vessey Seymour Cooper and Ethel Mary Cooper nee Moore of Brown Street, Paddington, NSW. Vessey also served returning to Australia during 1916  having served with the 18th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 6 November 1918 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on the 1 January 1919 at Melbourne for onward to Sydney

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

During 1922c Darrell married Gladys M. Young in Paddington, NSW

In 1935 Darrell was residing in Florence Street, Mascot, NSW
