Son of Henry James HOLDEN who upon returning to Adelaide after WW1, became a Director of Holden's Motor Body Builders Ltd.
The first car to be manufactured in Australia, the 48-215, was named 'HOLDEN' on 1 September 1948 in honour of William Arthur HOLDEN. his father and elder brother Edward.
