Son of William Edward Draper Oldroyd and Bertha Johanna Oldroyd of Burns Crescent, Abbotsford, NSW.
Brother of Joseph Ernest Richard Oldroyd who returned to Australia on 1 July 1919 having served with the 5th Divisional Ammuniton Column and Roy Andrew Oldroyd who returned to Australia on 19 June 1916 having served with the 1st Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 24 August 1918 aboard HT Medic disembarking on 13 October 1918
