Charles Rupert Hutton, born 20 January 1892, Presbyterian. 24, Accountant, 'Kalimna', Berkeley Street, Glenferrie, Victoria. Next of Kin, Mother, Mrs J P Hutton, 'Kalimna', Berkeley Street, Glenferrie, Victoria. Previous military service, 1 year as a Trooper in the Melbourne Cavalry and 2 ½ years in the 64th Infantry (City of Melbourne Regiment) as 2nd Lieutenant. Enlisted 22 September 1914 and appointed 9 October 1914 with 14th Battalion. Promoted to Captain 16 December 1914. Wounded on 30 April 1915 at Gallipoli, bullet wounds below both knees. Returned to Australia 31 October 1915, disembarked Melbourne 26 November 1915. 27 May 1916, embarked with 39th Battalion. Promoted Major on 1 October 1917. Returned to Australia 30 April 1919. Died 2 October 1956, Melbourne, service Springvale.
