Son of Arthur Kirk and Jane Kirk nee Gaudion of 4 Normanby Street, Middle Brighton, Victoria. Brother of Arthur Reginald Kirk who died of wounds on 9 August 1916 while serving with the Australian Trench Mortar Battery and is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension.
