Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of James and Elizabeth PATERSON of Surrey Arms Hotel, Kalgoorlie, WA

Soon after his arrival in France he contracted pneumonia, and had to return to England.  After his recovery he formed the 'Blue Dandies' and was a general favourite with all concerned.  He is known in the AIF as the Champion Baton Swinger, and best Drum Major.

Since his return home he has produced some very fine plays.
