Ken Phillis
Ken Phillis was my great uncle. He was born in Georgetown, South Australia, the youngest child of William and Charlotte (Mountford). having five brothers and three sisters.
At age 17 Ken left South Australia to live with his eldest sister Ethel (Sharpe) in Williams, WA. In 1916 he joined the 10th Light Horse ..and saw action in France.
On returning home he acquired property at Tarwonga where he farmed. In 1922 he married Gwendolyn Medlen. They had three sons and 2 daughters.
In 1964 he retired from farming and built a fine residence in Williams, WA.
Ken passed away on 14th March 1968, and is buried in the Church of England Cemetery, Williams, WA.

A bit more about him
Alexander happens to be my great-great grandfather, and this is what my nana has told me:
He is also known as Ken
He died from a heartattack at age 70; my nana says the nurses gave him the wrong medicine.
His house with a bullnose roof still stands to this day, and I'm not sure if it still has the weapons around the house that were used to kill Aboriginals (I also don't know if he killed any of the Aboriginals).
His service number is 2066.
He had a role title as the 10 LHR (Light Horse Rigement- Febuary 1915~Febuary 1916)
He fougt from 1914 to 1918.
His place of embarkment was in Fremantle, and boarded the HMAT Warilda A69.
He enrolled at 18, and was a farm labourer. His next of kin was his sister, Mrs. Ethel May Sharp, who's street address was Williams, which is in Western Australia.
He has two children, who are both female.
This is all I know as of right now
