Angas Sandow was born in Georgetown South Australia, the seventh child of Mary and George Sandow. After moving to Adelaide with his parents, Angas studied at Kyre College later becoming a motor mechanic before enlisting in 1916. In 1917 he saw active service in France as a driver in the 3rd Australian Aux. Mechanical Transport Coy. On his return he worked for local Adelaide motor firm Duncan & Fraser where he remained for a number of years. In 1920 He married Annie Palmer and they had 4 sons, Brian, John, Don and Gordon. At age 47, and then Company Manager of the Adelaide Motor Wrecking Co., Angas re-enlisted in the Citizen Military Forces in May 1942. He was discharged on September 20, 1945, due to the disbandenment of his Corps. He died in 1983 aged 89 years having been lovingly married to Annie for 63 years. Annie lived on until she was one week shy of 95 years. They lived in one of 2 Unley Park homes until settling into Resthaven at Malvern sometime in the late 1970's. They are buried side by side at the Mitcham Cemetry.

Angas Sandow was born in Georgetown, South Australia, the seventh child of Mary and George Sandow. Angas enlisted in WW1 in 1916 and saw active service in France in 1917 as a driver in the 3rd Australian Aux. Mechanical Transport Coy. He returned to Australia in Dec 1919 as was discharged in Jan 1920.
On his return he married Annie Palmer and subsequently had 4 sons, Brian, John, Don and Gordon. Brian and John both served in WW2. At age 47 while Company Manager of the Adelaide Motor Wrecking Co., Angas re-enlisted in the Citizen Military Forces in May 1942. He was discharged on September 20 1945, due to the disbandment of his Corps. Both serving sons Brian and John also returned from WW2.
Angas died of natural causes aged 89 having been lovingly married to Annie for 63 years. Annie lived on until she was one week shy of 95 years.They lived in Unley Park until moving to Resthaven in Malvern sometime in the late 1970's. They are buried side by side at the Mitcham Cemetry.
