The Late Mr. Edward

(Teddy) Bowyer.

Large Attendance at Solemn Requiem Mass.

At an early hour on Tuesday morning last a large congregation attended St. Brigid's Church to assist, at a Solemn Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Edward Bowyer.

The H.A.C.B. Society (of which '"Teddy" was at one time president), the Sacred Heart Sodality, Returned Soldiers and St. Brigid's Old Choir, the School Children and the congregation in general, were present in large numbers to pay their tribute of respect to the deceased young man, who was a prominent member of each association.

The Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Jones, P.P., and it was gratifying to see so many approach Holy Communion. The members of St, Brigid's old Choir sang very devotionally the solemn appropriate music. The Convent Orchestra very feelingly played the "Marche Fúnebre" (Chopin) at the Offertory, and at the conclusion of Mass the "Dead March in Saul".     Mr. Fred Afoo sounded "The Last Post" with much feeling and expression.

All present were greatly impressed by the ceremony, and the deceased's many friends and comrades-in-arms were very much' moved. "Teddy," as he was affectionately called, was a general favourite with all who knew him. For many years he was a prominent and faithful member of St, Brigid's Choir, and the Celtic Concert Company, and his happy, cheerful personality, and beautiful tenor voice will be greatly missed by all.

"May he Rest in Peace."
