28 Mar 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, Dernancourt/Ancre, During operation at DERNANCOURT S.W of ALBERT on the 28th March, 1918 for conspicuous bravery and disregard to personal danger. When our infantry were reinforcing and suffered numerous casualties he went out under heavy rifle, machine gun and artillery fire and helped to get the wounded away. His continued good work undoubtedly saved many lives. Throughout the operations, his bravery and cheerfulness was a great asset to the morale of his comrades. | |
