William's parents were Robert Douglas Hunter and Mary Foster Ramsbothham. Wiliam's father was the head teacher of North Pine State School from 1903 to 1919. He enlisted 11 March 1916 at Brisbane. His parents were living at Petrie when he enlisted. William returned to North Pine when the war finished. William's older brother Robert [4232] enlisted as well and returned home to North Pine.
