Charles ANDERSON (AUDERSSON) was born in Sweden in 1890 and arrived in Australia in 1912.

He was working as a farm labourer in the Diggers Rest area when he enlisted in the AIF on 3/8/1916.

He had applied for Australian citizenship prior to enlisting.

After training he left Melbourne on 19/9/1916 aboard the HMAT Commonwealth and was allocated to the 13th Machine Gun Company.

Charles was killed in action on 28/3/1918 and is buried at the Senlis Communal Cemetery Extension near Albert, France.
