Son of James O'Neill and Mary Jane Kerr formerly O'Neill nee Costello of Woodside, Victoria

Brother of Simon John O'Neill who returned to Australia on 22 April 1919 having served with the 24th Battalion and Motor Transport Companies; Maurice Edward O'Neill who was killed in action on 30 June 1916 while serving with the 24th Battalion and is buried in the Ration Farm Military Cemetery, Plot 1, Row I, Grave 3.
