29 Sep 1918:	Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 3886, 5th Pioneer Battalion, Breaching the Hindenburg Line - Cambrai / St Quentin Canal, SW to left buttock. Invalided to England.
25 Mar 1919:	Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 3886, 5th Pioneer Battalion, Declared MU due to varicose veins in both legs.

After the death of his son, Marius Olsen Jnr at 1st Bullecourt on 11 April 1917, Danish born, Marius Olsen Snr became a naturalised Australian citizen on 7 July 1917, and enlisted in the AIF (5th Pioneers) on 21 July 1917 at the age of 39, RTA on 10 December 1918.
