George was a member of a Rifle Club for 3 years prior to enlisting

George Wills and his brother Robert Joseph Wills both enlisted together in B Company of the 29th Battalion. In their first action at Fromelles George was killed and brother Robert was also mortally wounded the same day. Robert succumbed to his wounds and died in hospital in England a fortnight later.
George was aged 28, born in Werribee, attended Maldon Grammar School and was a contract chaff cutter when he enlisted. He was originally buried at Eaton Hall Military Cemetery by the Rev.S.A.Beveridge. In 1925 he was re-interred in Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery.
