Lance Corporal  Sharp  was a son of David Horn Sharp and Mary Thomson Sharp of 5 Campbell Place, Halfway, Cambuslang, Scotland.

Next of kin-David Horn Sharp,believed to be his
father of 53 Miller Street, Motherwell, Scotland.

It is not clear just how old he was at death-CWGC stae his age at 20, but the AIF Project states he was 21 on arrival in Australia, 22  at embarkation and 24 years and 10 months at death.

Enlistment date: 28 February 1915
Unit name at enlistment:19th Battalion, B Company
His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT Ceramic on 25 June 1915.

He is remembered on the grave of his parents at Strathaven Cemetery, Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

He is commemorated on the Motherwell War Memorial.
