The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to page 266. Prior to the war he was a student of North Sydney NSW. He enlisted 20th Aug 1916, aged 18 years. He served with the 2nd Infantry Battalion, and gained promotion through the ranks reaching Lieutenant. Unfortunately, he was Killed In Action 24th May 18. Rest in Peace Lest We Forget

Son of Joseph Harding and Isabella Cook FORBES, 447 Alfred Street, North Sydney, New South Wales
Mrs. J. H. Forbes of Craigievar, North Sydney, has received news that her youngest son, 2nd-Lieutenant M. W. Forbes was killed on May 25. An older brother, Lieutenant J. W. Forbes was killed at Polygon Wood on September 25, 1917.
