Mr. Anderson was well and popularly known in cricket and tennis circles in the early days—sports at which he excelled. He was a member of the Proserpine sub-branch of the RSSAILA. He is survived by a daughter Rae (Mrs. J. Williams) and son, Gordon, of Pleystowe Sugar Mill (Mackay), and three grandsons. The funeral moved from St. James' Presbyterian Church next day. The casket was draped with the Union Jack, and at the enrance to the cemetery exservicemen marched in front of the cortege. Rev. Jorden-Ayling conducted he services including that of the RSSAILA burial service. Ex-servicemen circled the grave and dropped a poppy leaf on the coffin. Master John McBride sounded the Last Post.
