Biography contributed by John Edwards

Private Hook, who was only 18 years of age, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Hook, of Darlington. He was educated at the North Sydney Public School, and at the time of enlistment was employed in a Sydney printing establishment. Two cousins of the deceased soldier are in camp at Liverpool.
