Son of John Bailey Urquhart and Elizabeth Urquhart nee Layton of Austin Street, Fairfield, Victoria. Brovingther of John Bailey Urquhart who returned to Australia on 22 April 1919 having served with the 22nd Battalion
4 February 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 21st Battalion and with the rank of Private
3 April 1916 - transferred to the Provost Corps
16 March 1917 - promoted to Lance Corporal
31 March 1920 - commenced return to Australia aboard Wahehe disembarking on 20 May 1920
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
19 August 1920 - discharged at the 3rd Military District
During 1937c married Sheila Kathleen Radcliffe in Victoria
