Add my storyBiography contributed by Geoffrey Gillon
He was born in Hobkirk (Scottish Gaelic: Eaglais Ruail), a village and civil parish in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, by the Rule Water, south-west of Jedburgh and south-east of Hawick, though he spelled it as Hapkirk on his attestation papers. He attested on 17th March 1916 giving his age as 32 years and 10 months.
He is one of 3 Australian soldiers of the Great War, named Thomson, who are honoured on the Jedburgh War Memorial.
