Biography

"THE LATE DRIVER J. H. MURDOCH.

Advice has been received by Master L. Murdoch, of Hindmarsh, that his father, Driver J. H. Murdoch, was killed in action in France. Prior to enlisting he was a brickyard employee. With his brother, he left Adelaide on April 1, 1915, and served for eight months in the Gallipoli campaign. He was well liked. Two brothers are now serving with the forces in France." - from the Adelaide Advertiser 25 Sep 1916 (nla.gov.au)
