The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 112, 278 and 284. Prior to the war he was a clerk of Reynella SA. He enlisted 16th Nov 1916 aged 32 years. He served with the 10th Infantry Battalion, remained a Private for the duration of service, survived the war, departing the UK for home 16th June 1919. A diary and a manuscript of George has been donated to the Australian War Memorial reference PR86/308.
