Son of John William Onions and Frances Clara Onions nee Ward of Russell Vale, Bellambi, NSW, Brother of Bert Onions who returned to Australia on 13 October 1919 having served with the 53rd Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 15 January 1919 aboard HT City of Essex disembarking on 2 March 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney.
During 1920c Reuben married married Beatrice Roebuck, in Wollongong, NSW.
