Biography contributed by Heather Ernszt

Harold James Bronson was the son of Edward Louis BRONSON (c1851-1914) and Eliza WILSON

Eliza died while Harold was oversears on the 17th Oct 1917.

Harry initially enlisted on 4 Aug 1915, at the age of 17. Harry upped his age to 18 and altered his plaace of birth to Melbourne, Victoria on his attestation papers.  Harry received a medical discharge on 25th May 1916. The medical officer's view was that Harry was an undersized youth who appeared younger than his declared age.

Harry reenlisted and on the 5th June 1918 departed Sydney, Australia aboard the RMS 'ORONTES'.

He died of Influenza and Bronchial Pnuemonia on the 28th February 1919.

Harry was survived by his older siblings;
