Son of Alfred James Keenan and Kathleen M. Keating formerly Keenan of the Convent of Mercy, Victoria Square, Perth, WA. Follwing Alfred's death Kathleen moved to Murchison, Victoria.
Brother of Evelyn Eustace Keenan who returned to Australia on 12 November 1917 having served with the 4th Light Horse Regiment, Aubrey James Keenan, Sybil Keenan and Constance M. Keenan
