Curwian Dickenson joined the 47th Battalion in Belgium during September 1917 and was wounded in the shoulder at Ypres on 12 October 1917. He was evacuated to England and returned to Australia in late 1918, with appendicitis and a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.
His brother, who enlisted at the same time, 2416 Corporal Maxim William Dickenson, 47th Battalion AIF, was killed in action at Dernancourt, 5 April 1918.
Curwian served during the Second World War and was appointed Captain for a period.
