Walter’s name has been inscribed on the Merewether (Mitchell Park) Memorial Gates, Newcastle South Public School Roll of Honour (photo, unveiled on the 13th December 1918) and the Newcastle Free Gardeners'-Pansy Lodge No. 21 G.U.O.O.F. Roll of Honour.

Walter’s name has not been inscribed on the family headstone, so February 2016 I placed a cross adorned with poppies on the gravesite, taken a photo of the grave and uploaded the photo onto the Northern Cemetery website as a permanent record of his service.

Many thanks to Walter's Great Nephew Jeff Cooper for the notification and profile photo of Mr Cooper.
I will be submitting an application to DVA asking for official commemoration at Walter’s gravesite.

Lest We Forget.
