Biography

Edwin Ernest WOOLLETT enlisted in the Australian Army on 05 Jul 1915.  He was allocated to: 20th Battalion (Infantry), 4th Reinforcements 1st AIF.  His Service Number was 2246.

He embarked from Sydney NSW on 30 Sept 1915, on board the HMAT Argyllshire, and saw action in Gallipoli before embarking to France, where his was killed in action on 26 Jul 1916, in a battle just outside of the town Pozieres, near Villiers-Bretonneux.  His body was never found. 

He is commemorated in the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, which is located about two kilometers north of the town of Villers-Bretonneux, on the east side of the road.

Edwin never married and had no children.
