Cyril Flood was the oldest of three Tasmania brothers who enlisted during WW1, and he was the only one who returned home. Cyril’s younger brother, 191 Pte. Harold Clifford Flood 40th Battalion died of enteric in England during September 1916, a month after arriving there.
192 Cpl. Ralph Cecil Flood 40th Battalion AIF was killed in action at Passchendaele during October 1917, aged 22.
They were all the sons of Arthur William Flood, of Cygnet, Tasmania, their mother having passed away in 1915. The father was also killed in a car accident near Cygnet during 1925.
