Son of William Frank Osland and Elizabeth Jane Osland of 'Brunkerville', East Maitland, NSW.
Brother of William Wesley Osland who was killed in action on 7 June 1917 while serving with the 36th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres, Panel 25
