'DRIVER J. W. HINCH.
Though Driver Hinch is not a Toowoomba or Downs man he is well-known in both Toowoomba and Warwick. He was attached to the 41st Battalion, as transport driver, and spent 18 months in Egypt. He was laid low with pneumonia, and was instructed to return to Australia. He expressed his intention of offering his service again.' from Darling Downs Gazette 7 Jul 1917 (nla.gov.au)
