Pte Ernest Victor BOXALL

Ernest Victor BOXALL (3691) was a 29 year old single labourer who enlisted in Winton, Queensland on 19 August 1915. He listed as his next of kin, Mrs E Boxall, Eltham, Kent, England. This was later changed to be his Sister, Mrs A A Boxall, 18 Blunts Road, Eltham, England. He was born in Eltham, England. BOXALL embarked from Brisbane, Queensland, on board HMAT A50 Itonus on 30 December 1915 as a member of the 9th Battalion, 12th Reinforcement and disembarked in Zeitoun, Egypt. He was taken on strength of 49th Battalion and travelled to the Western Front via Marseilles in June 1916. was promoted to Lance Corporal during his time on the Western Front.
